Due date: July 22, 2013
Baby size:
Total weight gain: about 30 pounds
Maternity clothes: Mom bought me some shorts that feel great. Also broke into Kenny's stored clothes to find a pair of comfortable athletic shorts for laying around at home. Getting by well.
Sleep: Getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, makes for a difficult time getting back to sleep sometimes.
Movement: She's kicking and stretching out a lot and I feel her little limbs on my right side.
Food Cravings: nothing in particular...just hungry for anything all the time.
Symptoms: swelling and heartburn are bothersome, but not so bad
Gender: Girl.
Name: Here's a big clue...it starts with a vowel.
Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks contractions were heavy this week.
Goals for the Week: Same as last week because I didn't. Count kicks. Eat more eggs and whole wheat. Find some lower back pain relief. Make a gift registry. Spend some time with good friends. Read lots.
Things I am am doing well: patience
Things Kenny is doing well: Kenny bought a Dad book to help him learn about a baby's first year.
Feeling toward pregnancy: Nervous, scared, unprepared. I need a pep talk.
What I miss: Annoyed when I drop things (which seems like often. I've been kinda clumsy.) and have to pick them up. It requires too much effort!
What I am looking forward to: Going to another baby class with mom, and Kenny coming home and seeing how much the baby has grown.
Struggles, worries, fears to surrender: see feeling toward pregnancy...very anxious about pain of delivery, feeling incapable of doing this big job.
Milestones: Washed all the clothes and blankets that we have! Really hoping that she's really a girl!

Heather!! I totally understand being nervous about the pain in labor, but you will have great support with you in the delivery! What I am trying to remember is that God created my body to do this. Also, I had some great encouragement from a girl who just had a baby a month ago. She had her baby totally naturally (no pain meds) and said that she would do it over today in a heartbeat because it is so amazing. I am trying to remember that and I hope that I will stay focused during labor that this is the way that God made me and also to focus on the end result! I read a book called "Birth Skills" by Juju Sundin, I thought it had some really helpful tips to try to distract you during the contractions. Anyway, I hope all goes well with you in your labor and that you actually will enjoy it because... your baby is coming!!!
Thank for the pep talk, Alisa! My snl left that book for me...I should read more of it. So excited for the announcement of Baby Walton's arrival coming soon!
