It took some work...but we pulled it down. And no one got hurt!

Our barn in its current state...

It was awesomeness.
Short tangent: Have any of you watched Elizabethtown? It was an alright movie...kinda slow, and really random. The randomness actually made the movie. Leslee, Laura, Mom and I watched it when they visited over spring break and we had a favorite random scene... there was a family get-together and the kids were goin crazy, like out of control and to calm them down Orlando puts in a video. A guy with a hardhat comes on and tells the kids if they're quiet and obey their parents he'll blow up a house! The kids are sitting there practically comatose and then he does it! I don't know...watch it. Just for the hilarious house explosion video. Very funny. Maybe it was just the company I was with.
Ok...so the barn coming down was the coolest thing ever. There was creaking, then a sudden crashing, all followed by an erruption of cheers from my me and my brothers. AND a downpour of tears from Mom. That's right. Mom got emotional over this! It was pitiful and at the same time quite funny. But anyway...that's what went down with the barn. (ba dum ch.) Maybe someday when we get it all cleaned up we'll put up another barn. I don't know. The backyard looks strange without it though. That's it for now! What a silly, inconsequential post. But man was this exciting. Later.

haha. i like this post! i almost cried with your mom because it's a piece of history gone, heather! GONE! ahh! and i only saw it once. you must just be a barn masochist. jk. i laughed out loud (yes, pulled a genuine "lol") twice! once when i read about elizabethtowm because i was just thinking about that a few days ago and searched relentlessly for a quote from that scene! didn't find one, unfortunately... i also laughed at your wonderful play on words, because i didn't get it... and then i saw the "ba dum ch" and went back and found it absolutely wonderful! :)
i still haven't gotten to talk to you :( watch out, because i'm going to try every single night this week after work! love ya!

barn masochism, real life LOLs, and blowing things up
lol I can't believe you finally tore down that old barn. It's too bad it had to go, but let's face it, it looked like it could fall over any day!
I'll probly see you in a week or so.
lol, awesome pics, i especially like the one where you're all pulling on the rope... sigh.. i can't believe it's gone!
hm, now what will we talk about everyday on our way to school?
Blog owner approval? You have been working for law firms way too much.
I was so sad to see the barn go down. I can understand your mom's tears. I thought surely a light breeze could have knocked it down a long time ago...lol. It certainly had character. Loved all the pics. You all look great!!! See you in 24 days, but who is counting? I liked the ba dum ch! It really works!!! Love ya, Aunt Dee
