Baby Update: Week 30

Due date: July 22, 2013

Baby size: 15.7 inch, 2.75 pound cabbage - 18 inch, 3.2 pound lettuce

Total weight gain: about 22 lbs or 10 kg - no weight gain this week

Maternity clothes: Not ashamed that I'm wearing my yoga pants most days and if I need to wear something else out, I change back as fast as I can. Comfort is my priority.

Sleep: Same as last week...just difficult because of discomfort and heartburn.

Movement: Sometimes, when I am laying on my side and she kicks around tickles me. Other times, it can really hurt. But it's sharp and quick. I think her hands and feet are on my right side now. She's been moving like crazy and we love to watch the waves and twitches across my belly.

Food cravings: Not a big appetite.

Symptoms: Heartburn

Gender: Still a girl.

Name: It isn't a short name, but it might get shortened.

Labor Signs: Nothing seems to have changed. I don't think I've had contractions. Paranoid that I will and not know it, but from all I've heard and read, I haven't felt anything like it.

Goals for the Week: Slowly unpack at the new house without ever over-doing it.

Things I am am doing well: I guess not stressing out and trying to control the moving process was positive.

Things Kenny is doing well: On Mother's Day he pampered me well, made my favorite food and made a trip to the crepe place and delivered my favorite desert.

Feeling toward Pregnancy: Getting tired of the bed rest, but still enjoying this miracle that's happening.

What I miss: I miss being able to fall asleep easily and comfortably anywhere anytime.

What I am looking forward to: Now that we've moved in it's nice to imagine bringing our daughter here. I'm thinking about making her a nursery space and am excited to watch her grow here.

Fears or uncertainties to surrender: Feeling nervous about the appointment next week and the flight back to the States. I have rested so much, except for Sunday night and Monday morning, right before moving, arranging things last minute. It's going to be hard to not feel like I did something wrong if I hear that the shortening has continued and there's a greater risk of pre-term labor.

Milestones: Celebrating my first Mother's Day!

Albanian Culture and Pregnancy tidbit: Apparently, high blood pressure isn't a concern, because I haven't had it taken at all. It's strange to me, as in all my reading bp seems to be a major indicator for a lot of problems.
