the ring...

Kenny chose a beautiful ring. I hadn't look at rings at all, I've always really wanted him to just pick one that he thought suited me. One time it came up briefly and I told Kenny that I thought he'd do a great job, but I knew that I wanted something very simple. He did a great job! My ring is a thin band made of platinum and single princess cut diamond. Of course, if you know Kenny, it's symbolic. He chose platinum because of the way that it reacts to damaging; instead of chipping away or flaking, it sort of just displaces under pressure. We hope our relationship reflects a similar characteristic in times of difficulty. Also, the band is more expensive than the diamond. It's what's underneath, the things that you don't see at first, that are most important to our relationship. One other uniqueness...rather than sitting parallel to the band, the diamond is turned 45 degrees. This relationship is unlike any we've had or ever will have. It's beautiful...the ring and all that it represents. I didn't expect to love this gift as much as I do, but it means so much to both of us! And it's so beautiful!
