Lol, my boss totally just got me. He silently crept up behind me and showered me with silly string! I was caught entirely off guard, and I jumped at least a foot, I know it. He's been known to be a little bit of a prankster and constantly gives me a hard time, but he's a pretty serious fellow. While I have no idea what motivated this eruption of complete childishness, I liked it a lot. It was fun. :]
This idea of the office being a fun place is a new one. What if I enjoyed coming here...?! I've got a few ideas to make this place a bit more enjoyable. More than that, I've got a few that will make this place a bit more meaningful.
Last night at Bible study we were challenged to become more intentional. I think the whole year is going to be focused on this challenge...man. I know its gonna mean stopping and taking a look at each area of my life - both the inward and outward parts - and defining purpose. Tough stuff. It'll be good though. I'd hate to have worked here for four years and look back and wonder if it had been a huge waste. I want my job to be so much more than a job. I have a huge opportunity at work and have barely had my eyes open to the possibilities. Wow.
So I'm gonna try to have some fun and build some real relationships at work. We'll see how it goes. I'm excited!
