Wednesday nights are Campus House and I always have a couple of hours to kill on campus before it begins. Kim and I usually spend the time in the Union near the food court and have decided that Wednesdays afternoons will be perfect for watching a movie or something. Hasn't happened yet, but its definitely on the agenda. Yesterday evening I watched a great show though. As the sun set, I watched the sky change colors. Gotta say that it was special. I had a great view from a window at the back of the libary.

There's something so comforting to me about the library. I've been somewhat lonely lately, and in the library I don't feel so alone; just because everyone is alone in the libary. Its like it's my decision, so it doesn't matter or something. Anyway it has easily become my favorite place on campus. Call me a dork, but I find the library charming. The building has so much character. I've enjoyed wandering about the huge building, finding all the best windows to observe the busy-ness outside and discovering the best nooks to seat myself. There's still a ton to find. Looking forward to that.

Actually, I got a job here at the library and will probably get to do a lot of wandering about the place and even be paid for it. I start Tuesday and I'm thrilled about this new job. I'll be hanging out in the reference section mostly. It's probably ridiculous, but the reference section has a little bit of an intimidating vibe to me. The reference librarian that interviewed me did too, at first. We chatted though and I think Jackie will be a great boss. I told her that I didn't even really need the job, I just really wanted to work in the library because I love it. She told me she knew what I was talking about. She said you really can't get far from the things you really love. I think that's the truth.

I love reading and writing. When I look back over my life, I see that's what I loved growing up. Those two things are also connected with peace and growth in my life, which I'm aching for right now. So, I'm trying to get deeper into both. Pretty crazy that a book case full of great books happened to find its way into my house and a sweet best friend just gave me an awesome new journal!

This weekend is going to be packed with reading and writing for school, a paper and a couple speeches. Good topics though, so nothing tragic. Before the writing come the CCH Girls Retreat though! Chillin with 50 some girls will be pretty great; can't wait to make new friends! Campus House is fantastic. Yes. And family groups beginning soon. Hooray.

Alright...the only other news in life right now is my impending trial. The office xerox machine somehow decided it would freak out and die while I happened to be using it. This is a colossal problem in a law office. No hearing has been scheduled as of yet, but my plea will definitely be "Not Guilty." I think I was framed. I'll keep you updated.

This is long and rambly, but I was in the mood. Later y'all! - Heather

Hi. I realize you don't know me, but I'm a friend of Herschel's & Lindsey Bevis (Heather T's former roommate).

Anyway, I just happened onto your blog from Hersch's and read that you're @ EIU. I grew up near there (Sullivan) and have a friend who is involved with Campus House. Her name is Beth Sanner. If you run into her tell her you know me (or that I randomly posted a comment on your blog). She's a great girl and a lot of fun. Just thought I'd throw her name out there while you're looking to meet new friends. I'm sure you'll gain many new friendships thru Campus House!

Go Panthers!
