This is one of the best January firsts that I've ever had. Beginning the new year worshipping with those that you love and you know love you is simply fantastic. And I did something today that I hope becomes common throughout 2006. I stopped caring about what people think and listened to what God was saying to me, "Just go." I walked down the aisle to the altar. I think it was a first for me. It seems like the altar is seldom used at the Trilla church, by me or anyone else, sadly. The sermon this morning was excellent and God was moving in the congregation, or at least in the little part of one pew where I sat. I cannot describe what it felt like to let go of my pride and control issues and just submit to the spirit. I think my biggest struggle is independence and not wanting to give any of mine up. Anyway it was freeing. It's incredible and I'm pretty ecstatic. There's something about going to the altar to pray and I want to go back. Yeah, so I took a pretty sweet trip today.
Other recent highlights:
- A wonderful uncle, aunt, and cousin took me to see The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe again. I like it more everytime. Gotta bust out the Chronicles again and get to reading.
- New Year's Eve was done Chinese style with Bridget, followed by our favorite bluegrass band and poker. Unconventional, I know.
- R.B. Mays was the preacher today. Pretty much one of the best.
- Matthew and Heather were here for the day.
- I love my family! We have tons of fun together.
- I was able to squeeze in a nap.
- I have a great home church when you get down to it. I'm definitely blessed.
- My cousins are great - yay for picnics on the kitchen floor and tearing into food like its our job, lol.
- I got to play that extreme version of UNO that is, oh so fun.
- I'm getting to bed before midnight! Yesss.
- I'm psyched about what's coming in 2006 - what I know is coming and even what I don't.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Yesterday was great and definitely a great way to bring in 2006. I'm so glad you had that experience at the altar..I think things are getting shaken up in the church and it's so exciting to see that happen...I can't wait to see what God has in store for us all!
